1. First switch off your PS3 by unpluging it from the power source if it is paired with your PS3 controller.

2. Connect your PS3 controller to your PC using the controller's USB charging cable. If you're connecting your controller via wireless dongle, make sure you install the dongle's drivers and follow the on-screen prompts after plugging in the dongle to your PC.

3. Download ScpToolkit from the above link. SCP Toolkit provides a PC-friendly interface to which your PS3 controller can connect.

4. Next, Double-click the SCP toolkit setup file. Its icon resembles a black PS3 controller.

5. Next, check 'I agree to the Lisence terms and condtions' then click on Next button.

6. Next, you'll get a menu of all the options to install, as in the screenshot below. Check the 'ScpToolkit Bluetooth Pair Utility' option then click on the Install button to begin the installation as shown below.

7. Next, give it like 20 seconds for the ScpToolkit to be installed on your PC.

8. Next, click on the big green button that says 'Run Driver Installer' as shown below

9. Next, check 'Install Bluetooth Driver', check 'Install DualShock 3 Driver', Uncheck the 'Install DualShock 4 Controller' box. Now click the arrow next to 'Choose Dualshock 3 controllers to install' and find the PlayStation 3 controller in the list and check it, also click the arrow next to 'Choose Bluetooth dongles to install' and find your Bluetooth device in the list if you connected it on to your PC. Check it then click on the 'Install' button as shown below.

10. Next, give it some few minutes for SCP Toolkit to install your controller's drivers. Once it is done, you'll see ScpToolkit as an icon in your system tray.
